To create and sustain good habits there are a few things people all over the world write on their list.
I found 17 things you and I can do to sustain a good habit.
- Find a unifying purpose in life
- Eliminate distractions:
- Remove devices one day a week
- Never check your phone first thing
- Value your time above all else
- Get rid of those that doesn’t add value
- Learn to say ‘no’ with confidence
- Take small steps every day
- Acknowledge you are human and make mistakes. Do not optimize like a machine
- Never be guided by guilt
- Never compare yourself to create good habits- set your own conditions
- Be patient with yourself and accept there will be up and downs, and mostly want to quit.
- Make yourself accountable to others for failing to get rid of bad habits and failing to stick to good ones.
- Eliminate the lifestyle factors that perpetuate your bad habits
- Learn from everyone
- What to do and what not to do
- Measure your progress in the most specific terms possible
- Reduce the numbers of decisions you have to make each day, possible to reach goals- morning rituals
- Outsource what you can’t do yourself
- Reward yourself
- Never take on more than one habit at a time
Let me tell you what I find the most important from this list; AND maybe put a few of my own ?
- TAKE SMALL STEPS EVERY DAY
- NEVER TAKE ON MORE THAN ONE HABIT AT A TIME
- MAKE YOUR OWN LIST WHAT YOU WANT TO DO AND MAKE IT FUN
- My morning ritual: pee, drink water and sit on my yoga mat (do yoga or meditate for 15 min)
- My night ritual: brush teeth before going to bed. I want to add training (advanced yoga longer than 15min)
- Make breakfast consisting of a banana smoothie
- Make lunches and dinner (simple food, I like and will always eat)
- MAKE YOUR OWN LIST WHAT YOU WANT TO DO AND MAKE IT FUN
- LEARN FROM EVERYONE
- DON’T COMPARE OTHERS LIFESTYLE OR GOOD HABIT WITH YOURS
- WE HAVE OUR OWN STYLE, RHYTHM AND NEEDS
- Learn about them by measuring some of your goals
- Write them down as daily diary- daily tracker
- What you eat the whole day
- How your program was
- Etc.

- REWARD YOURSELF
- FRIENDS: THE ONES THAT VALUE YOUR FRIENDSHIP AND VICE VERSA
- Call them for a long talk
- Hang out with good food, music or a movie
- Talk personally
- FRIENDS: THE ONES THAT VALUE YOUR FRIENDSHIP AND VICE VERSA
- NEVER BE GUIDED BY GUILT WHEN YOU DIDN’T DO EVERYTHING EVERY DAY- JUST START AGAIN
- BE PATIENT WITH YOURSELF.
- BE YOU – YOU DESERVE THIS CHANGE FOR YOU.
